The ArgoNavis decoding system is an
advanced professional standard
definition/high definition decoder with multi-
format decoding capability. This latest entry to
the Vela family of decoders is the perfect solu-
tion for those looking to handle content in both
SD (standard definition) and HD (high defini-
tion) formats, and support MPEG-2, H.264
(MPEG4 Part 10 AVC), Apple
®
ProRes and VC1
decoding.
With the innovative ArgoNavis solution, users
can decode video in either SD and HD for-
mats, giving them greater flexibility for con-
tent playback as they migrate between formats. Standard definition content can be easily
shown in high definition format by simply up-converting existing SD materials to HD,
eliminating the time and expense of re-encoding SD assets. High definition content can also
be down-converted to the standard definition format, providing even greater ability to meet
the changing needs of operators.
Likewise, the ArgoNavis eliminates the need to perform time consuming processes such as
transcoding and the excessive computing resources these processes consume. With Vela’s
ArgoNavis all of the common broadcast, professional, and consumer formats are support-
ed.
The ArgoNavis decoding system supports a multitude of other professional quality fea-
tures, such as HD/SD SDI output, genlock, component outputs, composite output, HDMI
output, embedded audio (Up to 16 Channels), analog stereo audio, AES EBU digital audio,
NTSC, and PAL formats.
Software support for the CineView M Pro includes an integrated, easy-to-use GUI with
PlayAdvantagePlus™, a comprehensive set of video management tools enabling effortless
decoding.
