Vela’s ArgoNavis Encoding system is a real-
time encoding solution designed for a broad
range of professional applications. The
ArgoNavis system supports High Definition
MPEG4 H.264 and MPEG-2 encoding at
1920x1080i and 1280x720P resolutions at both
NTSC (29.97) and PAL (25) frame rates, and
1920x1080P encoding at Cinema/Blu Ray
(23.976/24) frame rates. Additionally, the
ArgoNavis HD Encoder supports Standard
Definition encoding profiles in both NTSC
and PAL, making it one of the most flexible
encoding solutions on the market.
The ArgoNavis Encoding system supports pro-
fessional features such as 708 and 608 closed
captioning, capture of up to 8 channels of
audio, video scaling and cropping, and frame
accurate encoding using BVW VTR/Device
control.
Based on Vela’s Emmy winning hardware
encoding and video processing technology,
the ArgoNavis provides a cost effective, stan-
dards based, realtime, encoding/recording
solution to Broadcast Professionals, Video
Engineers, IT Managers, Medical Personnel, Educators, and anyone requiring high quality
video capture and distribution.
The ArgoNavis Encoding System provides optional input/output configurations, including
Analog (Composite, S-Video, Component, Audio) , HDMI video and audio, and SD/HD SDI
providing end users with the flexibility they require.

with touchscreens, foot switches, or traditional input sources such as a mouse and keyboard.
