Captions
View both standard definition (EIA-608) and high definition (CTA-708) captions. Search for captions, on any recorded channel, and download captions as needed.
Alarm Graphs
Alarm graphs to visualize events occurring live/real-time. Efficiently identify frequently occurring issues to instantly recognize and address problematic times and patterns.
Audio
Alarm graphs to visualize events occurring live/real-time. Efficiently identify frequently occurring issues to instantly recognize and address problematic times and patterns.
Digital Triggers
Advanced detection, search, and analysis of embedded SCTE 35 or SCTE 104 due digital program insertion triggers.
Emergency Alert Systems (EAS)
Proper EAS alerts handling is not only important for viewers, but also for broadcasters to ensure that they’re providing crucial information and complying with all related federal, state, and local regulations. Therefore, good EAS alert support doesn’t stop with a simple on-screen indicator.
With Vela, the full alerts, along with the complete text and audio, are stored, searchable, and downloadable. Users are also be able to set and receive immediate notifications (emails, texts, Slack, etc.) when an EAS alert occurs.
Audio Levels
Vela’s audio level analysis handles any quantity of audio channels and groups. All the results are viewable, searchable, and downloadable. Alarms can be set on a per-channel basis and include checks lower limits, upper limits, and duration of exceeded those limits.
Audio Loudness
Calculated loudness is becoming more and more important. This is not only to ensure that channels adhere to the CALM Act, but also to simply provide viewers with a consistent and pleasant experience. All of Vela’s SmartLoggers provide searchable data, downloadable results, and a variety of charts and graphs to analyze those results. It’s often easier to make decisions based on graphical information, rather than just a sheet of numbers, and Vela makes sure you’re equipped for this.
For downstream commercial insertion and a variety of other purposes, the use of embedded digital triggers (whether SCTE 35 or SCTE 104) is becoming a standard tool for many facilities. Whether you are inserting digital triggers, acting on existing embedded triggers, or both, you need to know more than just that a trigger existed when it’s time for troubleshooting.
Vela’s SmartLoggers provide tools help users search for digital triggers, see those triggers on timelines, analyze the triggers down to the individual data fields, and even receive notifications (emails, texts, Slack, etc.) when various triggers are encountered. Taking things one step further, these SmartLoggers can even help you detect when a trigger has been scheduled for insertion, but none was found.

HLS Support
The use of HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) brings a lot of power and advantages to content producers and distributors. This is partially because it can run on almost any server and is supported by most devices as they seamlessly adapt to changing network conditions by raising or lowering the quality of the stream. For HLS adopters, it’s important to have and use tools that can fully monitor these streams.
Vela’s SmartLoggers enable their users to see every profile, when desired, on the multiviewers and track the compliance and quality of each. Statistical metrics can also be gathered and compared. Individual events, such as cues and ranges, can be graphed and notifications (such as emails, texts, Teams, etc.) can be triggered.
Bitrates
The depth of video and audio information, along with the metadata pertaining to it, is an important factor for the overall quality of a channel and/or stream. Quality of Service (QoS) means more than just does the channel arrive at its destination and includes, at the very least, and assurance that it arrived well.
Vela’s SmartLoggers provide tools that can track and record the bitrate information for any digital stream. Once in the database, this information can be viewed, downloaded, graphed, and even trigger notifications (such as emails, texts, Teams, etc.) when the stream is not working within acceptable limits.
